We launched ShareMonkey just over a week ago. As part of this process, we sent our press release to some p2p and tech news sites. Here is a round up of some of the articles and user comments that were posted:

NewTeeVee

“It’s certainly a new approach to enabling consumers — punishing a small number of infringers hasn’t worked, so maybe rewarding passionate fans looking to support their favorite artists will.”

ZeroPaid

“What if the movie was good and therefore did deserve some kind of “contribution” to those who created it? Well, using ShareMonkey you could find who’s selling a LEGAL COPY of it (obviously once it’s released on DVD or a legal online video service) and thereby “make amends.”"

TorrentFreak

“It finally poses the statement that “downloading does not prevent anyone from purchasing the product” […] If the product is good to begin with people are going to buy it.”

Slashdot

“I try before I buy on most everything. If this works as described, I could possibly find a cheaper solution than I am usually accustomed to.”

We received a lot of feedback, thank you everyone who emailed us. We will continue to improve our file to product matching results using the suggestions and comments you made.
